Hands up whose head hurts when they talk to me.

Honestly, Barney? For the most part, mine doesn't. But there are moments when, yes, I do get a little confused. Meanwhile, that is liable to happen with everyone, no matter who we talk to, and it does.

Angelina's observations are amusing, some of them, and mostly pointless. After dwelling, I came to agree with what she said about me. But I do not agree with what she has said about other people.

My brain hurts sometimes. People are complicated.

She did say some strange things. Except for about people writing the numbers of the their entries in foreign languages, that was quite true.

Oh, yes, we are all very complicated. I don't want to write her off, but she has a somewhat two-dimensional view, and I can't say I'm enjoying it.

And yet pointless. I daresay it's more interesting than counting your entries in English. Or numerals.

It's quite interesting how many people can speak other languages, though. I probably wouldn't have noticed if it weren't for these journal things.

Not me! But that would be a pretty fun power to have - 'annoy me long enough, and I will make your head hurt!'
Oct. 5th, 2007 09:42 pm (UTC)
That can be my super-power! I can stop people from doing bad things by distracting them with pain in their head. What's your super-power?
Oct. 5th, 2007 09:49 pm (UTC)
Hmm. Distracting people by apparently multiplying!
Oct. 6th, 2007 02:22 pm (UTC)
Is she one girl, is she two? Oh, how confusing! We will be brilliant at distracting people, now we just need someone who can do stuff whilst we are distracting the bad people. While we're at it, I think Nick can do a pretty good job of distracting girls. So maybe Chris and Saorla can actually avert the disaster, whatever it is. Actually, possibly we could enlist Ernie MacMillan to help, he's a pretty practical guy. Hufflepuff Heroes to the rescue!

Yes! We can start advertising it now. Your mostly fearless but hardly average friends here to save the day! We just need cool alias'.
Oct. 8th, 2007 10:30 pm (UTC)
Wow, aliases. Here my imagination runs out. What do you suggest?
Oct. 5th, 2007 09:47 pm (UTC)
Don't worry Barney. I think Angelina was just trying to get a rise out of people. If you made my head hurt I wouldn't hang around you because my head hurts enough as it is. All the time... study Charms with you, now would I?
Oct. 6th, 2007 12:44 am (UTC)
I wasn't trying to get a rise. I was just making observations and I realised some of them would offend people, but I put them in anyway. I haven't been able to tell you and your sister apart in the past but I have more of an idea now. You're the timid one.
Oct. 6th, 2007 01:22 am (UTC)
Oh, I get it. You're one of those blunt and honest people.

I don't mind that you can't tell us apart. I wouldn't expect you to, as we don't cross paths much - but we are fraternal. So we're not exactly Fred and George.
Oct. 6th, 2007 06:15 am (UTC)
No, you're definitely not Fred and George. I can tell them apart though. Things would be very interesting if I couldn't.
Oct. 6th, 2007 06:16 am (UTC)
Er, right, yes. I don't want to think about that anymore.
Oct. 6th, 2007 02:24 pm (UTC)
It would be pretty difficult to study with a headache, that's true.
Oct. 6th, 2007 12:46 am (UTC)
You don't make my head hurt. You seem to make other people's though. But I like you. You're genuine and so few people are.
Oct. 6th, 2007 02:30 pm (UTC)
I like you too. You are a very strong person.
Oct. 7th, 2007 02:22 am (UTC)
I could do with being stronger. Thank you Barney.
Oct. 6th, 2007 09:02 am (UTC)
Well, you don't make my head hurt. I think that perhaps her statements could easily be construed in a way which perhaps they were not intended? Many people seem to be affronted, which is kind of sad. I mean, it's just a list of her observations, and she's entitled to make them. I do hope people don't all get affronted and take offence, as I doubt that was her intention.
Oct. 6th, 2007 02:34 pm (UTC)
I think most of it seems to be sorted out with a bit of discussion. I mean, at the end of the day, you don't have to agree with everything she said. I know I don't. As long as it doesn't seem actually insulting, because then honesty is not such a good quality. I know I am not one to talk, because I talk a lot, but... well, so I am one to talk, but I mean... er... well there is always the option of not saying anything. Which might sound surprising coming from me, but I do know when not to talk (usually when other people are talking or if they are trying to study and things or if the things you have to say might be wrong).
Oct. 6th, 2007 11:44 am (UTC)
Ignore Johnson. I think she's been stealing Trelawney's cooking sherry.
Oct. 6th, 2007 02:40 pm (UTC)
Yeah, some of her comments were a bit off. Like, what was all that about you and Fawcett? I think sometimes people just want to see romance and sex all over the place.
Oct. 6th, 2007 04:25 pm (UTC)
Yeah, it's ridiculous. If two people are very friendly, they're in love. If they're aggressive to each other, they're in love. And if one of them tries to be silly and the other doesn't find it funny, like me and Fawcett... well, you know what Johnson wrote. If real life was like this, then everybody would be in love with everybody else in the whole wide world - and this including people like Snape and Umbridge.
Oct. 7th, 2007 02:21 am (UTC)
Yeah. And denial is a river in Hogwarts.
Oct. 7th, 2007 11:17 pm (UTC)
I don't think anyone is in love with Professor Umbridge. Maybe we should suggest it next time someone writes a journal entry about how much they hate her - sexual tension you know, classic case.
Oct. 8th, 2007 08:58 am (UTC)
That poor person would be scarred for life if we were ever to make that suggestion. Let's do it.
Oct. 8th, 2007 09:42 pm (UTC)
You couldn't do that to poor Karen!
Oct. 8th, 2007 10:09 pm (UTC)
Maybe not. We should save it for someone who deserves it. Ok, that will never happen. Save it for someone who almost deserves it then.
Oct. 8th, 2007 10:18 pm (UTC)
But who could almost deserve it? I think that would be a frightful thing to be told, even if you were a really nasty person.
Oct. 8th, 2007 10:24 pm (UTC)
Not for a nasty person, especially. Just point out to those who see any tension as sexual the logical extension of that hypothesis. It would be educational, really.
Oct. 7th, 2007 02:23 am (UTC)
Do I seem like the type who wants to see sex and romance all over the place to you, Barney?
Oct. 7th, 2007 11:12 pm (UTC)
I don't know. I don't really understand why people do that.
